Prints featuring predominantly shades of blue -- known as  Airzuri-e -- were a popular genre near the end of the Edo period. They usually featured varying shades of Prussian Blue, a pigment introduced from overseas. This series features famous products from different regions of Japan, some nestled in the mountains, some besides the sea. The beautiful woman -- or "Bijin" -- on the bull is the focal point, and behind her a group of fishermen have just pulled a full haul of mackerel from the sea. Fuji-San looms in the distance.
